Medical certificates
Issue e-signed medical certificates that are watermarked until signed, locked once signed, and fully audit-logged.
Medical certificates are legal documents, and DoctSoft treats them that way. Certificates are e-signed by registered clinicians, cannot be passed off as valid before signing, and are locked once issued, with every action recorded.

E-signing by registered clinicians only
Only a registered clinician can sign a certificate. Signing is the act that gives the document its authority, so the ability to sign is restricted to the people legally entitled to do so.
Drafts are clearly not valid
An unsigned certificate is a draft. If printed, it comes out watermarked and marked "not valid until signed", so a draft can never be mistaken for the real thing.
Never hand a watermarked draft to a patient as a finished certificate. It carries no validity until a registered clinician has signed it.
Signed certificates are locked
Once signed, a certificate is locked: it cannot be edited. If something needs to change, you re-issue, which creates a new document rather than altering the original. This preserves the integrity of what was already signed.

Prepare the details; any print is watermarked and marked not valid until signed.
Clinician e-signs
A registered clinician signs, giving the certificate validity.
Document locks
The signed certificate is locked; corrections require a fresh re-issued document.
Every action is audit-logged
Drafting, signing and re-issuing are all audit-logged, so there is a complete, tamper-evident trail of who did what and when for every certificate.
To correct a signed certificate, re-issue it. The original stays locked as the record of what was issued, and the new document supersedes it.
